Join the delicious Revolution
A grassroots movement toward healthy food for all
When you support Soil Born Farms and the Healthy Food Fund, your money is used to build a more sustainable and equitable local food system. It will help establish urban farms and gardens; create cooking and gardening education programs for youth and adults; preserve and support family farmers; increase distribution of locally grown fresh produce to schools, food banks and underserved neighborhoods and develop a state-of- the-art education center at the American River Ranch.
You can make a difference We have reached thousands of children, teens, and adults with our programs by obtaining public and private grants. But we cannot operate on program grants alone. We rely on your donations to be a strong organization capable of meeting the challenges and opportunities in the coming years. Put your money where your values are! Help us make our community a healthier place and create a local food system that is just, sane and sustainable.
Your donation will be used to grow more food, feed more people, plant more gardens, train more farmers, glean more fruit, teach more kids, mentor more teens, educate more families, offer more classes, create more urban farms and pay a living wage to our staff. Together we can transform a shared vision of healthy food for all into a local reality. Be part of the solution and help us create an edible city.
"Unlike many places around the world, we still have the unique capacity to feed ourselves and create sustainability around good locally grown food. Preserving and nourishing this rare opportunity now may be the most important long term health decision we make as a community." – Shawn Harrison

American River Ranch
Restoration and Development Fund
The vision for this historic farm located along the American River is to open it up to everyone. We are creating a place where young and old have the chance to connect with nature, get inspired, learn, have fun, heal and become a part of the Soil Born Farms Community. We’ve got big dreams! This year your donations will help create an outdoor kitchen classroom and commercial kitchen to support our education programs. Get involved and make the connection between food, health & the environment at the American River Ranch.

Fund a Need
Greenhouse
Our immediate need is to raise $7,500 for an additional greenhouse. We will able to grow more organic vegetable seedlings that will be distributed at the Sacramento Food Bank’s Mobile Markets, to local small growers and used for other Grow Your Groceries projects.
