Food Access: Farmers Markets

Farmers markets are the most well known direct marketing relationship between producers and consumers, a unique opportunity for face-to-face interactions between those that grow the food and those that eat it. Farmers markets begin to bridge the gap between consumers and the food they eat. We continue to see growth in the number of farmers markets, due to a rising interest in local foods as well as the mutually beneficial relationships between producer, consumer and the local community as a whole.

Currently we participate in three local farmers markets

Sacramento County has 14 Certified Farmers Markets throughout the week at different locations. Some of these markets are seasonal and shut down during the late fall and winter months.
